The LCA Middle School track teams delivered a strong showing at the Monroe County Meet on May 7 in Bloomington, highlighted by personal bests, resilience, and a standout performance from Elanor Farnam for the girls team. Elanor Farnam led the way with an impressive runner-up finish in both distance events. She placed 2nd in the 800m with a time of 2:44.71 and followed it up with another 2nd place finish in the 1600m, clocking in at 5:56.82. Her consistency and strength across both races set the tone for the team and showcased her determination and growth this season. For the boys, several athletes battled well in a competitive field. In the 400m, Isaac Eason finished 8th with a time of 1:10.43. The 800m saw Justus Weeks place 8th (2:30.13) and Athan Connell finish 11th (2:40.57), both continuing to show steady improvement. The 1600m proved to be a strong event for the Lions, with Athan Connell securing a 4th place finish in 5:42.20 and Justus Weeks taking 7th in 5:21.77. Across the board, the athletes competed with grit and represented LCA with pride. The meet was marked by continued progress, competitive spirit, and the reward of hard work put in throughout the season.
