LCA Honor Jackets Recognize Student Achievement in Academics, Athletics, and Leadership At Lighthouse Christian Academy, earning a letter is more than just an accomplishment—it's a milestone that represents dedication, perseverance, commitment, and excellence. This fall, LCA is proud to celebrate students who have earned their letters through achievements in academics and athletics. These students have demonstrated the hard work, discipline, and character that reflect what it means to be an LCA Lion. As students reach this milestone, they have the opportunity to proudly display their achievements through an LCA Honor Jacket, a lasting symbol of their journey and accomplishments at Lighthouse Christian Academy. What Is an LCA Honor Jacket? An Honor Jacket is a traditional varsity-style letter jacket that recognizes student achievement and celebrates the commitment required to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Featuring LCA's navy, white, and athletic gold colors, the jacket includes the traditional "L" on the left chest. Students can personalize their jackets with graduation numerals, varsity chevrons, athletic and academic pins, and optional LIGHTHOUSE lettering across the back. But the true value of an Honor Jacket goes far beyond its appearance. It represents early mornings, long practices, late nights studying, lessons learned through challenges, and the determination to keep growing. Each letter, patch, and pin tells part of a student's story. Who Can Earn an LCA Letter? LCA recognizes student accomplishments through both academic and athletic lettering opportunities. Athletic Letters: Student-athletes earn their varsity "L" upon meeting the requirements for their first varsity sport season. Academic Letters: Students earn an academic "L" upon induction into National Honor Society (NHS) or Spanish Honor Society (SHS). Whether a student excels in the classroom, on the court, on the field, or through leadership opportunities, LCA believes these achievements deserve to be recognized and celebrated. A Jacket That Tells a Story One of the most meaningful aspects of an Honor Jacket is that it grows with the student throughout their high school experience. As students continue participating and achieving, they can earn additional recognition to display on their jackets. Varsity Chevrons: Awarded for each completed varsity season in which a student participates in at least 50% of the games. Graduation Numerals: Presented when a student earns their first letter. Athletic Pins: Recognize participation in sports, individual achievements, team accomplishments, and leadership. Academic Awards: Recognize academic accomplishments and honors. Additional Patches and Pins: Celebrate achievements in athletics, academics, clubs, activities, and leadership. Athletic patches and pins are distributed upon completion of the athletic season, while academic awards are presented during honor ceremonies or at the completion of the school year. Over time, each jacket becomes a unique reflection of the student's experiences, accomplishments, and legacy at LCA. Why Does It Matter? At Lighthouse Christian Academy, excellence is about more than wins, statistics, grades, or awards. It is about developing young men and women who demonstrate faith, integrity, perseverance, leadership, and a commitment to serving others. An Honor Jacket celebrates the balance of faith, academics, athletics, character, and leadership. It recognizes not only what students accomplish, but also the dedication and growth required along the way. For younger Lions, these jackets also serve as a visible reminder of what is possible through hard work and commitment. They inspire future generations to set goals, pursue excellence, and proudly represent Lighthouse Christian Academy.
